Today i had my visiting teachers, Julie Huntsman and Tawna Leal, come and visit me today. Julie mentioned during our socializing that her daughter had just recently gone huckleberry picking up at Kelly Canyon and it has an explosion of berries up there. I looked at my sister, Shaina, whose visiting from Colorado, and we got excited. Shaina and her husband, Heath, were camping at Bear Lake and got rained out...sad. But...they packed up their wet stuff and came to stay with us, hurray!!
We decided to go pick our own berries today. We picked up my other sister, Sharon, on the way and off we went.
It took us a while to find a good picking spot but finally we did. The kids all worked hard and we managed to nearly fill a gallon bucket. We plan on making huckleberry ice cream and enjoy the fruit of our labors!!
