Visit with the family in Washington!

I missed our family reunion that we had in the beginning of June, so I was glad that I got to visit family and introduce Jordyn to the rest of the family.

Every summer we take a trip up to visit my parents in Washington, and every year we try to go to Silverwood. My dad gets discounted tickets so it makes it very affordable. This year, Jared really wanted to take the kids. I have been hesitant in the past because they are not tall enough to go on the rides, but this year, we decided they were big enough.

We talked my mom and dad into coming with us and we had a grand time of it!

This is my favorite picture of the whole day. I loved being able to spend time with my parents and let the kids have fun with the grandparents! We were on the train ride, which is by far the most boring of all rides in the whole park! My parents ride on it every time they go to Silverwood, though they know not why they do it, for they agree that it is very boring too!

Eli was so scared that he curled up in a ball and Jared had to hold him close to comfort him!

We went to dancing on ice. The kids loved it!

They loved seeing Garfield and Eli whispered something into Garfield's ear though none of us know what he said.

This little roller coaster was a lot of fun! Eli actually wanted to go on it again. Mackenzie and Alexis loved every ride.

The airplane ride. You could pull on the handle and it would go up and down. I think this was Eli's favorite of all!

Lexie was a dare devil. Nothing scared her!

Same with Mackenzie. They had the time of their lives!

Mackenzie was the only one big enough to ride on this spinning ride. She screamed with glee!

Alexis drove the antique car. Mackenzie was not at all interested in driving but she enjoyed the back seat with Eli while Jared helped Lexie stay on course.

We had a fantastic time! Making the day "all about the kids" was worth it! If we didn't have family living so close, we would camp at the camp grounds across the street. I would be fun to do a day with the kids, and then the next day, do the adult rides.

Our only disappointment with the day, was that it was super windy. It wasn't a big deal until it came time to go swimming. The water felt like ice with the wind blowing so hard. We did the lazy river and tide pool but had to stay away from the kids zone. We didn't last long!

Luckily, grandpa was there to save the day with his sweet tarts, because the kids were huddled under a blanket shivering their tails off when he offered a treat to keep them happy!

This and That!

Some of you know that we are fortunate enough to get our lawn watered by the pivot lines that water the nearby wheat field. We can hook up our hoses to the water lines and also water our lawn at no charge. We mainly hook up the hoses to let the kids run through the sprinklers. We just got back from weeding our garden across the street and instead of having the kids change into their swimsuits, I just had them take off their pants and run in their shirts and panties. ( I know, we are ghetto! )They have fun even in their underwear!

Jordyn's first blow out. I think it is time we went from newborn diapers to size one. We actually took this picture to show Jared's dad what a true "bad diaper" looks like. He says he changed a diaper that would be rated a 13 from a scale of 1 to 10. We asked if it had leaked out the bottom and the top and used the whole bag of wipes. He said, "well, hum, no. But it stank really bad!" We told him that this diaper of Jordyn's was rated only a 5 or 6 in our book, so he couldn't have gotten a diaper that was that bad!

The kids asked if they could take the camera outside and take a few pictures of themselves. I said they could take about 5 pictures or so each. 104 pictures later, here are some that I kept. It is interesting what they deam worthy of picture taking. There were pictures of the back of the house, grass, bark, pine cones and other such objects. I prefer the pictures that they took of each other.

Heidi, Jared's sister, always lets Alexis take her camera and take pictures. She says that Lexie always takes the best pictures. I would have to say that she is right. I really like this next one she took of Mackenzie and Eli.

This is Max, my sister Sharon's little boy. He is two months older than Jordyn. They are buddies. He is going to be Jordyn's body guard. Well, he actually already is . Nobody would mess with Jordyn when Max is around...can't you see he's already ready to pound anybody who get's in his way!

We set the tent up in the back yard and the kids brought out their dolls that Aunt Shaina, my sister, made for them. It was really quite cute how they set up their beds like this.

And here they are all ready for bed. They did really well! Jared slept outside with them while I stayed in my comfy bed with Jordyn.
