ER Visit

Last night Kenzie and Lexie were hopping around in their bedroom when i heard a high pitched scream. Mackenzie came running out holding her chin and crying. Blood was dripping from a gash in her chin. Jared and i thought it was way too deep for us to super glue ourselves so i brought her in.

This girl is our accident prone one. 
This is her third time going in. I really hope they don't think we are abusive parents. especially when they ask what happened and she says she tripped. she was hopping around, lost her footing and fell into her window seat bench. 

An hour later (record timing for an emergency room visit) we were leaving with three stitches and an orange popsicle. She is doing great!

New Years Eve 2013

Since we had only just got back home from our trip to Washington just the day before, we decided to have a quiet night in with just our kids. Jared picked up a few snacks and gadgets at the store for our family party. We enjoyed watching despicable me from our neighbors Christmas stash and then watched the count down online at 10 o'clock so that we could go to bed early. We popped some sparkling cider open, blew some cazoos, sprayed each other with silly string, drank root beer floats, kissed, and called it a night. It was a fun time and a quiet time with our kids.

This year has been full of blessings with Lexie getting baptized, Jared getting the principal job here in Shelley, and buying a new house. We feel like the Lord has given us so much and are so grateful! May next year be just as cheery and bright! God bless us, everyone!!

River Front Park, Spokane Washington

While visiting my family for Christmas in Washington, we took the opportunity to see some of the sights that Spokane had to offer. They had a package deal where we could go ice skating, watch an IMAX movie, ride the gondola over the falls on Spokane River, and also go mini golfing. We thought the kids would enjoy those activities and so we each got a pass.

The kids loved watching Aurther Christmas, a very cute movie, but their most favorite part was learning to ice skate. Lex was gunho from the beginning and Mackenzie soon caught on too. Eli took a lot of encouragement but in the end he was off on his own as well. Jared was so great with the kids taking turns guiding them. I went slowly with anyone left behind, but in the end they all were off!

The gondola ride was pretty cool and the kids enjoyed teasing Jared that we would fall into the river.

Mini golf was great too. The kids quickly got the hang of it and left me and Jared in the dust.
