Master Heath

From now on Mr. Jared P. Heath shall be known as Master Heath. Yes, he has completed his masters degree in Educational Leadership. He has been working on it for the past 2 years and finally completed it this past December. He only just got his diploma in the mail. He did the bulk of his classes in the summertime which was hard because we all wanted to go out and play. So, he would play with us during the day and then do homework and classes from about 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. He worked really hard and it paid off. I am so proud of his dedication to his classes. He graduated with a 4.o GPA for the entire program. !

He loves being a teacher. I think he is an amazing teacher. I truly feel that! I honestly don't feel like I am bias in any way when I say he is one of the best teachers I know! He wants to be a Principal and so hopefully that time comes soon. I think that he will be a fun principal but also fair and approachable. I love this guy!

Jared now says that he is going to have his students at school call him Master Heath. We figure that if a person who has their doctorate can be called Doctor, then Jared can certainly be called Master for having his Masters degree. Doesn't Master sound better than Doctor anyways!?! So please, call Jared Master if you have a chance to talk on the phone with him or if you see him in person. He will get a kick out of it.

Alex turns 6

A year and ten days after we had Mackenzie, we were blessed with Alexis Maja. She too could not wait to be born. She was due February 28 and came 5 weeks early. She was 6 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long. Yes, she too was a large preemie! Alexis is full of spirit. She knows everything and makes sure to let everyone know what she thinks and how she feels. Yesterday I was released from the Primary Presidency and I was tearing up when Alexis asked what was wrong. Daddy told her that I wouldn't be in Primary any more and Alexis started crying too. We asked her what was wrong and she said, "I don't want momma to leave Primary! I love her in there." She is so funny! You can't laugh at her or she will get really angry at you, but you can tease her and she will tease right back.

Alex needed to have some drawing paper too. I am pretty sure that Mack has used more of it though!

Alexis also picked out this Princess game. It has three different games inside, Bingo, Checkers, and Princess Old Maid. (That is kind of funny to me that they have Princess Old Maid because it is like and Oxymoron.)

Mack turns 7

It really doesn't seem like it has been 7 years since our beautiful Mackenzie Jayne was born into the world, but it has been. She wasn't due until February 18 but she wanted to come so badly that she came 5 weeks early. She was 6 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long. Yes, quite big for a premie. Mackenzie loves to color, swim, play dress up, and is such a great big sister. She is such a sweet girl.

We let Mackenzie choose her own presents this year. She chose this very special Tangled shirt. I love the green on it because it brings out her eyes and the red of her hair.

Again, Mackenzie really loves to color and to draw. She is always asking for some blank paper to color on, thus our computer paper gets used up pretty quick. So, she picked out a whole thing of copy paper for herself at the store.

She also picked out these mini mermaids. Ariel and her sisters. Both the girls really like Ariel because she has red hair like them.

Next year will be her 8th birthday. We have been talking to her about baptism for a long time but I am amazed at how quickly that day will come.

Gone Dancin'

Jared and I were able to take a nice evening out with our friends and family and do some dancing. We went to the local elk lodge and danced the night away to some sweet jazz music. We did some swing dancing, some lindie hop, some slow dancing combined with waltz, and a little bit of cha cha.

Our great friends, the Evans, were able to come play.

But you can't dance until you fuel up on the fine refreshments that were layed out for us.


Megann was the one who told us all about it. The dance was put on for a local family whose son has cancer. All proceeds went to helping them out. So, we got to have a fun night and help someone out!

Basketball with Mack and Alex

It is that time of year again. Yep, basketball! As you know, last year was quite an interesting year for Mackenzie and when you throw Alexis into the mix, you get an awesome and fun(funny) game to watch. I will now be talking as if I were Mackenzie or Alexis.

Mack: "Um, I've got the ball and um, um, um, who do I pass it too?"

Mack: "The ball is up in the air, oh no, oh no, now everyone is going to start pushing me around as they try to get it. I am just going to watch and hope it lands in my hands."


Mack: "Gosh! How many times am I going to have to dribble? I wish I could just spin around chasing my butterflies."

Mack: "I think I can do this. Okay, I put my hand here and my other one here and I push as hard as I can. Please little butterflies, help me get it in!"

Alexis: "If you don't go in then I am going to run to my dad and cry!"

Alexis: "Dad, it didn't go in! Kenzie gets hers in but I just can't get my ball up there!"

Daddy: "You're fine, go play!"
Alexis: "But daddy, didn't you hear me? I miss the basket!"

Alexis:"No one will pass me the ball."

Alexis: "I am still going to cry and you can't do anything to make me feel better."

Alexis: "Well maybe something will make me feel better! Don't judge me, if you just slam dunked a basketball you would be happy too!"

Mack: "I love it when it is break time."

Alexis: "I am going to drink as much as I can before Kenzie notices."

Alexis: "I know I should be on defence right now but I look so good in my new basketball jersey."

Mack: "I think I finally get this game. I am totally going to get this rebound."

Alexis: "See, I totally look so cute in my jersey!"

Alexis: " I've got my coach wrapped around my little finger!"

This season has been so fun for Jared and me to watch. Mackenzie has improved so much and Alexis tries so hard that we just have a great time every week. Lex is pretty bi-polar though! One minute she is on cloud nine and the next it is the end of the world because someone stole the ball. Mack could care less though, she would hand the ball to the other team if they asked nicely, but she dribbles so well now and makes a lot of her shots now. We didn't think that she would like to do basketball but she really has a knack for it. Alexis does well due to her sheer determination and ability to charm her way into the ref's and coach's heart. (However, if she starts crying, it drives me crazy!)
