Last night we went to a Jazz basketball game together as a family. Lexie had gotten a free ticket for playing Jr Jazz basketball, but we all got tickets to go.
Dusty and Lainey joined us. Lainey loves the jazz. She loves basketball!
My brother's, Jamie and Ian, along with some of Jamie's boys, Carson and Garrett, also joined us.
It was a quick trip down to Utah and back bit still fun.
Tonight for enrichment we had a 50's themed RS birthday party. We got to dress up whichever 50's way we wanted. I really wanted to glam it up so I went on pinterest and looked up hairdos and makeup and outfits.
I tried out a 50's rocker bow, rolled bangs, and victory rolls.
Makeup was simple though I did not have any red lip stick, I used some dark maroon color.
I was excited about finding an outfit and went to my friend who owns and runs the local community theater and borrow a dress and hat. I could have gone as Rosie the Riveter but i really wanted to doll it up!
My friend Brenda came with me and she dressed as Rosie. We had a great enrichment night talking about the gifts that the Relief Society has given us over the years. I learned how to be a better wife, mother, friend, and community member. I've laughed, cried, and been uplifted by fellow women who love and want to serve the Lord! I am so blessed to be a member of the Relief Society!!
I refinished a few pieces of furniture.
We found a super ugly picture frame up in the rafters of our rental home when we were cleaning it out and i thought i could paint it and make it look really cool.
The end tables we've had for about ten years and i told Jared i would refinish them and have not gotten to it till just recently. I painted them a squash color and then took a dark walnut stain and dirtied it up. I love how they turned out!
I scored the coffee table at the Calvery chaple thrift store. On Thursdays, they have 30%of everything in the store. I got it for $14.00! I brought it home and went to work on it. I was going to just paint it cream and distress it a little bit, ( knowing that Jared hates the distressed look, i was going to keep it low key.....) But...i really wanted a pop of color. So i decided to see how it would look with different colors. If it looked bad i would just paint the white over it. I painted the top turquoise, the bottom the squash yellow, and the legs maroon. Then i dirtied it up with the walnut stain. I love how it looks and Jared loves me so he tolerates it. He is so good to me!
The bottom picture is my colorful room put all together. Color in a house equals happiness to me!!
