Monday Night Football

This past Monday, we had dinner, FHE, and finally it was time for the kids to go to bed. Jared put the girls in bed, and I got Eli ready for bed. I walked downstairs and layed him in bed. Then suddenly I hear, "Courtney, are you putting Eli in bed?" I yell up to him, "Yah." "No!, Bring him up here, he's gonna watch the game with Daddy." I rolled my eyes and continued to tuck Eli in. Then I heard him say, "You have to the count of 5 to bring him to me, 1,2,3..." (I don't know what he is thinking, like counting really is going to work on me. I smile and still ignore him.) All of a sudden, I hear clomp, clomp, clomp. Oh no, here he comes....(sarcastic voice) I hurry and grab one of the girl's dolls. Jared reaches the bottom of the stairs when I very timely say..."Here you go Eli, here's your little baby doll to snuggel up to." I'm laughing as Jared playfully shoves me aside and grabs Eli and says, "You're watching football with daddy, you don't have to go to bed."I figured I would help the male testosterone bonding moment by bringing in a little football for Eli to hold.
Eli lasted two minutes before he started squirming and Jared let him go. I brought him back downstairs, tucked him in, and he fell fast asleep. Well, I watched to game with him, I was anxious to see if Jared's three players could come up with 60 points in our fantasy football league and beat me. I am happy to report that they couldn't and I won our matchup.

Walk to Cure Diabetes!

The City of Idaho Falls hosted a Walk to cure Diabetes. Some of you may not know, Jared's brother Dusty and his wife Megann, have a little girl Lainey, who has Type 1 Diabetes. They discovered she had it when she was only 13 months. This walk was a way to earn money for the research to find a cure. Amazingly, our little city was able to raise over $20,000.00. There were so many families there. Some were walking in rememberence of their daughter/sister who died 4 years ago to this disease and others there with the hope that with enough funding, a cure will be found in the near future. We were Team Heath and we were walking for Lainey.Channel News 6 interviewed Lainey, with Dusty, her Dad, keeping her calm in front of the camera man.
We made signs to hold up while we walked. This is Ben, Chad and Des' little boy showing his support.
Kenzie and Alexis love to play with Lainey and this was just before we started the 5K walk.
I think that we live in a time where technological advancements enable us to live longer happier lives. I am so greatful to live in this time period where we can be blessed with medical knowledge that lets us have this time with Lainey. She is an amazing brave little 2 year old. (That's right, she is 2, I know she looks bigger than Alexis.) Heavenly Father sure loves us.

Thanks to Dusty and Megann for lettting us be a part of the Fundraiser. And thanks for the pictures that I took off of your blog. :)

Makin' a cake

When ever I cook, my kids like to watch and so they insist on sitting on the counter while I prepare the food. Well, sometimes there are benefits to what I am making. I was making a chocolate cake and the kids got the spoons afterwards. I thought it was a cute picture of them. In case any of you may be worried, they know that they must not touch the knives in the background, otherwise they are not allowed to sit on my counter. And I never leave them unattended.

Oh, and Kenzie is wearing her witch dress up clothes.

I see the Corn!!

Yesterday for dinner, the girls were helping daddy make mommy a nice birthday dinner. We had breaded chiken, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and gravy. It was a good meal. The girls loved shucking the corn husks. They would peel off one green leaf at a time and when they finally got to the corn, they would yell out, "I see the corn!" It was really cute.
When my family lived on the ranch, in Arizona, my mom would have us little kids shuck the corn. I remember standing around the trash can with my siblings, pulling off the little hairs that were on the corn, getting it ready to boil. After dinner, Jared and I dropped the kids off at Dusty and Megann's house (thanks so much for babysitting guys) and headed to Shelley to catch Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the community theatre. It was so fun to go.. Sorry that the picture is so dark.
Jared took me out last Friday for a birthday date too. I wanted it to be a surprise what we did, so he came up with the plan. We went out to dinner at Sizzler and then he said, "I thought we would go to Freeman Park and play frisbee golf, then go to the Shelley football game, and then catch a movie after that." (I thought it was really sweet that he tried. I am a sporty person, but I was hoping for something a little bit more romantic.) However, we decided on the Football game and it was a lot of fun to just spend time with Jaref. I love my husband so much, he tries so hard to make me feel special. He is the best!
PS: Thank you everyone for calling. I got a few phone calls and notes from people I didn't expect to hear from. It really made my day even more special! Love you all!

Bad to the Bone!

This week, our friends from Washington came to visit and go to a wedding. Doug and Sarah and their two little boys, Isaac and Kade, stayed with us. Doug brought his motorcycle and gave the kids a ride in our back yard. Kenzie was clinging to the handle bars. She looked really scared but she asked for a second ride.
Alexis was the wild one. She kept saying Yahooooooooo!
Doug gave me a ride around our house and a couple of blocks. It was so fun, I love riding on motorcycles.
The kids are waiting for their turn again. It was really fun having Doug and Sarah visit.
