Walk to Cure Diabetes!

The City of Idaho Falls hosted a Walk to cure Diabetes. Some of you may not know, Jared's brother Dusty and his wife Megann, have a little girl Lainey, who has Type 1 Diabetes. They discovered she had it when she was only 13 months. This walk was a way to earn money for the research to find a cure. Amazingly, our little city was able to raise over $20,000.00. There were so many families there. Some were walking in rememberence of their daughter/sister who died 4 years ago to this disease and others there with the hope that with enough funding, a cure will be found in the near future. We were Team Heath and we were walking for Lainey.Channel News 6 interviewed Lainey, with Dusty, her Dad, keeping her calm in front of the camera man.
We made signs to hold up while we walked. This is Ben, Chad and Des' little boy showing his support.
Kenzie and Alexis love to play with Lainey and this was just before we started the 5K walk.
I think that we live in a time where technological advancements enable us to live longer happier lives. I am so greatful to live in this time period where we can be blessed with medical knowledge that lets us have this time with Lainey. She is an amazing brave little 2 year old. (That's right, she is 2, I know she looks bigger than Alexis.) Heavenly Father sure loves us.

Thanks to Dusty and Megann for lettting us be a part of the Fundraiser. And thanks for the pictures that I took off of your blog. :)

Wow, those pictures are awesome! :) Thanks so much for coming. Alexis and Lainey were so cute in the jogger. They were giggling together and then every once in awhile Alexis would ask, "Where's my mommy?" Dusty lied and said you were "right behind us". Technically you were, right?

I think this is a great activity to do as a family. Especially when you are doing it for a specific person. {Lainey is really cute.}

Good job, guys!
