Cross Country

This year was an interesting year in which my girls decided to try out for cross country.  It started with the girls getting a taste odd running when we had our Weber family reunion 5k fun run.  The girls did a really good job and so they decided to try out for the school team.  You can start cross country in 5th grade.

They started running in the mornings before the season started with the neighbors, Brigham and Talea Murdock. After a week of this,  mackenzie said she didn't want to do it anymore... I told her she had to do it.  She ended up loving it! She and Alexis were amazing!  Lexie is so competitive that she would stop running and memoir had to push herself to Iberville the mental challenges that come with running miles upon miles.  It was so fun to watch them work hard! Jared and I are so proud of the girls and hope they will do it next season!

Eli got baptized

I was looking over my blog and realized that the most important thing that happened this year for our family hadn't even been blogged yet,  Eli's baptism.  We are so proud of Eli for choosing to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He is such an amazing little boy!  He's sweet natured,  easy going,  loves to be active in all sports,  and is really smart in school too.  I'm love my little man child!

The Marshall's

Every couple of years we are able to reconnect with our friends the Marshall's who use to live here in Shelley.  They've since moved from here to Colorado to St.  George,  UT and so of course we had to go visit! We hiked the red Hills and cliffs that surround St.  George and partied in the night.  Thanks  Shawn and Cassidy for a great time!  See you again soon I hope!

Zions National Park

We loved hiking the trails in Zions national park,  the red cliffs and water falls were just amazing! We are so blessed to live in the world we do!

We loved the park so much and ran out of time that we stayed in a ghetto Travelodge so that we could go back into the park the next day!  I wish we had had more time!

Kolob canyon in Zions national park

Harvest break has always been a great time for us to get away with the kids and vacation.  We decided to go to Zions National Park and kolob canyon was part of the park pass.  It was so beautiful!  I wish we had more time to hike the trails!

Cove Fort

We had the opportunity during harvest break to go to Utah and visit family and also go to Zions national park.  While on our way,  we stopped by Cove Fort.  It's an old pioneer fort that Brigham Young asked Ira Hinkley to build as a half way place for people to test at as they traveled.  It took Ira 7 months to build this amazing place.  Now,  as you drive down interstate 15, you can stop and tour the building.  It fully is an amazing piece of architecture!  Plus,  the missionaries that are serving there are really fun!
