Funny Pictures

When we had the party for Eli and Jordyn, of course the cousins all have fun together.

In this picture, I am not sure what Eli is doing but I think he is looking for his rear end, sorry buddy, you only have a hinge.

All the kids thought it would be funny to make a mess of their food because Jordyn was.

Lexie was sad here because she had accidentally bonked into her cousin Ben and he went inside crying. She was sad because she thought he didn't like her anymore.

I love hang out with family and I love even more that my children know their cousins on both sides of the family.

Jordyn's 1st Birthday

My little baby girl turned one. I can't believe a year has gone by already. She just cracks me up.

We went to the store and got the free birthday cake that they make for a baby's first birthday. We ordered a chocolate cake with a pink bear and the number 1 put on it. I got to the store and got my cake. On our way home, we opened it up to find a blue cake with the name of Matthew on it. We were worried that Matthew would be disappointed if he didn't get his came so we returned it. However, the other cake they had waiting there was not a girl's cake. The cake maker must have gotten mixed up and she decorated our cake as a boy cake but put the number 1 on it. Well...it was free, so we just took it home. Oh well, Jordyn didn't seem to mind the color.

Jordyn was tentative at first, just sticking in her finger and scooping a small lick out of frosting.

She took one lick and got very excited.

Then she started grabbing handfuls.

And more handfuls.

The blue frosting was great. It showed up nicely for the messy pictures.

Then we opened presents.

Jordyn would open a present and then start waving back and forth really fast and scream a happy scream.

It happened every time she opened a present.

She would also clap enthusiastically.

And then wave some more.

Jordyn had a great birthday party with all her Heath cousins.

Grandma Ann

Grandma Ann came for a little visit. She lives in Blackfoot and we try to visit her often. We were lucky to get to have her come over to our house for a big turkey dinner. While she was here, we took the opportunity to take some pictures with her and all her great grandkids from Jerry and Betty's line.

This was our Heath family reunion this year. We missed having Jerry and Betty physically here with us but they were with us on Skype. We carried the computer around and they got to see all the goings on of our party. 

Mack and Alexis's Music Programs

I love going to the kid's programs at the school. They make me smile when I see how they interact and how their personalities come out with their classmates.

Mackenzie had her 1st grade music program. She was so excited and then, when we get there. She is shy and quiet. Every time that I would wave or do a thumbs up, she would smile and look away.

 I was able to get good close pictures of Alexis because I got there really early. I will remember that next time for Kenzie.

 Lexie got to be in the very front. She told me that she was suppose to wear a dress. I told her no she didn't because I didn't get a note and it was a cold day out, but then, I see all the other little girls have dresses. Oh well.

This is Mrs. Weist, Lexie's school teacher. She is a fantastic teacher. The first time I met her was last summer and Jared had been working with her during summer school. She walks around the classroom and will suddenly burst out in Opera singing. She is spunky and lively which is just what Lexie needs. However, we warned her that Lexie would be a handful and she said, "Oh parents tell me that all the time and their kids end up being the best students." Well, this year, she met her match. She told me that just because Lexie said, "Excuse me, excuse me Mrs. Weist..." That it meant she could talk whenever she wanted. In the beginning of the year, Lex must have said excuse me at least 30 times a day. She is much better, for now....Mrs. Weist is retiring this year, not because of Alexis, she was already planning it. But I think Lex could have confirmed her choice. We will miss her.

Jordyn just loves her little sippy cup. Every time she takes a drink from it, she smiles really big.
OH, and her two front teeth finally came in.

Kenzie: Mom, where is my money that I earned for reading 1,000 minutes?
Courntey: Oh ya, I'll go get it.
(I start to look for some quarters because that is what we agreed on if she didn't cry and complain, she would earn a quarter every day. )
Kenzie: Mom, can I have a dollar?
Courntey: Sure I can give you a dollar.
(I go to my purse and begin looking for a dollar bill.)
Kenzie: Oh mom, can I have one that has a 100 on it?
Mom: No Kenzie, you can't have a hundred dollar bill!
Kenzie: Oh man!
(I hand her the dollar bill and she runs up to her room to put it in her piggy bank. And if you are thinking, "Wow! She has a hundred dollar bill?" My answer is no, but I wish!



Bedtime, as you all know is %$*^^! You put the kids in bed and every 5 minutes they find a reason to come out. This was Lexie's excuse.
Lex: Mom, I have pink eye.
Courtney: Oh good!
Lex: No mom, that's not good!
Courtney: Okay, well, go to sleep and you'll get better in the morning.
Lex: No mom, I think it will get better if I just stay up.
Courtney: LEXIE GO TO BED!
Lex: OKaaaayyyyyyy...

Lex: Mom, I need a drink.
Courtney: You already had a drink.
Lex: I need another one.
Courtney: Hurry and get one.

Courtney: ALEXIS, GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM. YOU ARE DONE GETTING A DRINK. GET IN BED.

Happy Birthday Eli

My little man child has just turned 4. Wow, it seems like time is just flying by. Eli was my easiest pregnancy ever. I didn't get sick nearly as bad as I did with the girls, I didn't have any anti-E antibodies, gestational diabetes, or bed rest issues. He came at 37 weeks, was really quick, two pushes, and no tearing, and I was out of the hospital the same day. (I hate being in the hospital and so I try to get released as soon as possible. ) Once hitch was that he came so fast that the doctor didn't get there in time to deliver him, but hey, my body knew what to do and so it wasn't that big of a deal.

He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 21 1/2 inches long

Born at 3:45 a.m.

Eli has been such a good little boy. He was calm and cuddly as a baby and is silly and funny as a big boy. I love my man child!

Eli opted for a doughnut cake again. I love when the kids choose a doughnut cake because I don't have to cook a cake, nor do I have to worry about crumbs and plates and all that extra stuff.

Jared wasn't able to be here for Eli's birthday because he had to be at the school hosting the division 4 Eighth grade track meet. He was gone all day. So, in order to see Eli, Jared invited Eli to come the the school and have a very special lunch of pizza at the school with him.

I also talked with Eli about seeing if he would be willing to wait to open his presents for when the whole family was together. We are all getting together next Sunday and so we will combined his party with Jordyn's first birthday party. He did get to open Aunt Heidi's present for him because it came in the mail. It was a nerf sword. He loves it.

He also got to open his card from Grandma and Grandpa Weber. He got 10 dollars from them, which he was very excited about. He ran upstairs and stashed his money away in his piggy bank, but stopped on the way to show it off along with a funny face.

Why the influx?

In case you all have been thinking to yourself, "Gosh, Courtney sure is blogging a lot more lately." Well, there is a reason. I just made my blog into a book so that we could have a hard copy of everything that we have been doing the past couple of years. I love it because I feel like it is a family history. It is like my journal. I don't know about you but I tend to do the whole woe is me type of journaling. I would only write in my journal when I was having a hard time, so I love my blog because I capture the happy times. I write stories in my blog that I wouldn't usually write down in my journal, or write down anywhere for that matter. Now I have stories of the kids that I wouldn't have even remembered. So, I started my blog back in 2008 and printed up through December of 2010. Now I am determined to print out a blog book every year, so I am posting way more often so that I have enough content for my book. That is why I am posting way more often.

Oh, and if you posted a comment of my last post, the juvenile delinquent one, could you post it again, the blog site went down for a little bit and when it came back up, all the comments were deleted but I never even got to read them. Thanks.

Juvenile Delinquents

These two boys are the best of friends. The minute that they meet up they are inseparable. The have loads of fun together. Even with things that they are not suppose to get into.

Of course it was not the parent's fault that they were unsupervised. We were very busy watching the movie "Young Frankenstein" downstairs so we are not at fault. We were hosting our friends in a movie night. Again, us parents were NOT at fault for neglect, it is the kids who are in trouble here, not us!

So, with no one to stop these two rascals, they decided to explore. It probably just started out with them going potty but then it escalated. I am not sure as to what exactly went down, but here is the end result. Fully drenched kids who smelled wonderfully of tropical flowers and vanilla. I assume that the bathroom sink was involved and the full can of air freshener that is now completely empty, had something to do with it.
