Jordyn turns 5

5 is a pretty big point in a child's life where things really start to change.  They get to go to school and learn all sorts of things and even in primary they are learning a bunch.  Well,  my baby girl turned 5 and I am super excited for all that she gets to experience. 

She woke up this morning to us singing silly birthday songs to her.  She got the traditional blueberry muffin breakfast.  And after church we had her choice of Taco dinner with a purple sprinkle cake for dessert. 

Aunt Sharon and the kids, Kathy and Patrick Jones our cousins on Jared's side of the family ,  and grandpa Jerry came to her birthday party. 
Kathy and Patrick gave her a barbie and some barbie supplies,  Aunt Heidi Gave her a frozen kite,  we Gave her an O. G.  DOLL AND A BIG Dora coloring set with markers and crayons and a set of digging sand shovels because quote "I love to dig for treasure!" as jordyn says.  And Jerry and Betty gave jordyn and doll closet for all her doll clothes.  It was a fun little party!

Person Progress :Divine Nature

I am working on my Personal Progress and thought I would focus on these two goals. I'm going to focus on being a peacemaker since both of these goals line up together.

 

Develop your divine qualities. Read Matthew 5:9; John 15:12; Galatians 5:22–23; Colossians 3:12–17; 1 John 4:21; and Moroni 7:44–48. Memorize your favorite verse from one of these passages. Identify the divine qualities mentioned in all these scriptures and list them in your journal. Select one quality, and for two weeks strive to make it a part of your daily life. Record your progress and experiences in your journal.
___7. Learn the definition of the word peacemaker. Then find and read five scriptures that teach about peacemakers. Become an example of a peacemaker in your home and at school as you refrain from criticizing, complaining, or speaking unkindly to or about others. Pray each morning and evening to Heavenly Father for help to do this. After two weeks write in your journal what new habits you want to develop, how being a peacemaker is part of your divine nature, and how you will continue to be a peacemaker.

 

My initial thoughts on being a peacemaker are thus...I feel like being a peacemaker is one who does not join in idle gossip and tries to see the good in everybody. A peacemaker will give the benefit of the doubt and seeks the Lord's help in seeing people the way He sees them, as a child of God. We were not sent here to earth to fail miserably but to Succeed Gloriously.

 

 So what can I do to help my fellow brothers and sisters succeed gloriously?

 

I'm going to focus on service. I think that I can change lives for through showing love and service. I can soften hearts, ease burdens, and create long lasting relationships with people by giving myself to their needs.

Mother's Day

I'm so blessed.  My children really are so good to me!  I don't want to give the wrong impression that there aren't hard times but my kids are very good!  I love them so much and am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with the opportunity to be a mother!  It truly is the greatest thing a woman can do!

Gardening 101

I'm determined to have a great garden this year.  I want to have beautiful flowers growing in my flower pots and raspberries out my ears for jam...Am I seeing myself up for failure?  I hope not!  I've been pleading in my prayers for the work that I'm doing to show so that I don't get discouraged.  I can do this... With help,  and luckily I have great neighbors,  Melissa Daniels,  and in laws,  Betty Heath that have been helping me.  The Lord provides special angels to help you when you ask.  I'm excited to show you the fruits of our labor in the fall!
