Camping at Sportsman Park

On a spur of the moment whim, Jarred and i decided to take the kids camping. We've been so busy this summer but haven't really had a family vacation. So...we left on Wednesday and came back Saturday. The camp area was so nice!! It had close bathrooms that flushed, and kids jungle gym, and just down the lane was the swimming area. I suggest though, that if you are going to go there that you go in June or early July because the water level goes down about 6 inches every day. It is a reservoir after all.

We brought along my nephew Kolby, my sister, Shaina's son, with us on our trip. He's been visiting for the month and I got to steal him from my sister, Sharon, who had him.
W had a few hiccups in our food plans, we burnt the first round of biscuits so we ended up just wrapping the biscuits around a stick and cooking them that way. It was fun though!
You had to keep rotating the bread like when you are roasting marshmellows to get a nice golden brown but it worked and our buscuits and gravy breakfast was oh so deliscious!!
S'mores...the kid's favorite!!

Jordyn was cleaning her sunglasses off with her shirt.
Poor Eli biffed it on the road and got a pretty back scrape on his knee. Doctor Daddy to the rescue!!
Our campsite was so nice with a great picnic table and soft grass. Such a nice place, definitely a place to return too!
Down at the reserviour along the rocks. We hiked along the shore, skipping rocks, looking for jumping fish, and watching the sun set. It was so beautiful!!
