I've been meaning to post about my birthday for a while now. I turned 31 and so Jared said that i am officially IN my 30's which means I really am old. You know what, I may be 31 but I feel better now then I did in my 20's. With being pregnant, or nursing, or taking care of a baby that woke up in the night, I feel like my 20's were not so great health wise, but now that I am 31 and I have been working out, lifting weights, and eating better, I feel so so so good!
The day of my birthday was pretty much like any other normal day. It was a Saturday, which meant doing Saturdays chores, harping on the kids to do their chores, and then just hanging out. Jared and I had tickets to go to the BYU football game but I had already promised my friend, Emily, that I would help her out at her ward's daddy daughter dinner night. She's way more important to me than a football game and so I sent Jared to the game with his parents and I stayed home. I had a lot of fun teaching the Cotton-eye-joe line dance and the Virginia Reel to a bunch of dads and their daughters, I would do it again! Thanks for letting me come Emily! Also my good friend, Cassidy, brought me over a ymmy slice of chocolate zuchinni cake that made me feel better about Jared leaving me. She sang to me along with her daughter, Ellie, so I didn't wollow in self pitty during the day.
Jared was feeling guilty that he wasn't going to be home on my birthday so he took me out the night before. We went to dinner and then decided to play Frisbee golf. We were at the 3rd hole when we heard a voice, "Do you guys mind if I play through?" We located the voice to find a guy waiting. We happily waved him through. Then, he threw his Frisbee and it soared! I mean....really soared. We were going to let him just pass us and then he said, "let's go all together." So we did. He threw his Frisbee again and it flew way farther than what Jared's and mine had gone. I jokingly said under my breath, "Man! We've got a professional with us." The man says over his shoulder, "Oh no, I'm retired now!" Jared and I started to laugh and then realized he was being serious. So, for the rest of our game, the man whose name we learned was Steve, taught us different tricks when throwing our Frisbees and let us use his specialized Frisbees meant for putting, long drives, slicing through trees and other such nonsense! It was fun to learn all about the exciting world of Frisbee golf. Thanks to Chad and Dez for babysitting for us so we could go out!
But, the real birthday happened two weeks later. Jared's parents got all of their kids and spouses tickets to go see Les Miserables for all our birthdays. We traveled to Boise and watched an amazing production of the show. We stayed with some friends of Jared's, Jane and Ryan Olsen, and then returned home the next day. It was such a fun little weekend getaway. Thanks to Mom and Dad Heath for the tickets, to the Olsens for giving us a place to stay, and also to my sister, Sharon, for babysitting my kids so that Jared and I could get away without having to worry about our kids!
31 AIN'T SO BAD!
I think my 30's are going to be great for me!

I am so glad to help when i can- I cant wait till I am 31 then all my kids should be at least 1 and I can party with you (or at least get some decent sleep) maybe even lift some weights hahah maybe being the key word. :) Im glad your b-day went well- Cute picture of you and Jared.
I'm glad you enjoyed Les Miserables. It was a highlight for us to have you there. I agree with you about being 30. It's a lot better than pregnant, nursing and sleep deprivation. Enjoy the moment!
