The Dentist and the Hives

Jordyn had her first official dentist appointment today. She's gone to the dentist in the past but he's just kind of opened up her mouth, looked for obvious problems or issues and then let her go. This time, Jordyn got her teeth cleaned and polished and painted with a protecting seal. She kept say "no" to every question asked of her even if the real answer was "yes". She made the doctor laugh with her "No's". She didn't cry for the female hygienist but she cried a lot for Dr. Carpenter, until he bribed her with his Dentist tools. Overall, I think Jordyn did really well and she made people laugh!
On a different note, poor Eli got the hives from who know what! He really got it bad but these pictures don't do it justice. He had spots everywhere.
Eli just so happened to have a Dr. Appointment the very next day...(convenient!) so they checked him over. He was not contagious in any way and this was purely just an allergic reaction. To what, we don't know, but the doctor said that a lot of people have  been having allergy problems due to the large amount of smoke in the air from all the fires. So he stayed home from school but told that he could go back the next day and that the hives might flare up for two weeks but that he is fine.
I sent Eli to school the next day and called to tell the teacher about him. She didn't answer her phone so I left a message saying that it was just an allergic reaction to something and he is not in any way contagious.
Well...there was a sub that day and so she never got my message and calls me at the end of the day very concerned. I explained to her  what I had called about and she asked me what he ate. I told her that he didn't have anything out the the ordinary from what he usually eats. She said that the kid's snack the day before was peanut butter cookies. I said if Eli had been at school the day before then that would be very helpful but that I kept him home because he already had the hives and I had taken him to the doctors office that same day.
So, he if fine now. It was a big hula balloo at school with people thinking it was chicken pox but it was just HIVES! (Get off my back already! Gosh!)

Sorry about the hives, that stinks! Poor Momma! I'm glad the dentist went well, that's one of my least favorite things to do. Especially with kids!
