Old Friend

I had the opportunity to spend time with my oldest childhood friend, Jami Haley Sears. We met at church the first Sunday after moving to Washington from Arizona 25 years ago. Then, as chance would have it, we ended up being in the same 1st grade class together along with our other friend Pam Kobylarz. We stayed at her house when we were up in Washington for the family reunion and then a week later she came through Idaho Falls with her kids on her way to Colorado to visit her husband who's been working there for the summer. It was great to catch up!

Don't judge, this picture was taken early in the morning when we just woke up. She was heading off and I realized that we hadn't gotten any pictures together.
Even though Benjamin is 2 years older than Eli, they had a very good time together playing ninja and spy an all sorts of boy games.
Just hanging out together.
Benjamin, Eli, and Evelyn.
And the girls had a great time together playing dress up and pet shops and barbies.
Olivia, Kenzie, Ali, and Lexie.
The night before we were doing some smack talk to each other like when we were little and Jami started talking about how tough she was and that she could beat people with her left hand in arm wrestling. She challenged me and I accepted. I secretly knew this would be no contest but I let her rave about how she was going to beat me. I know, I typically boast and brag and egg on whoever but this time I just listened to her tease. Then we got down on the ground and she reached over to feel my arms and said, "Holy Cow you have some girth!" Now I am not sure to be offended or feel complimented. Jared told her that I lift weights and as we "warmed up with our right hands" it was no competition. I totally whipped her. Then we went with our left hands and she was confident that she was going to take me. We began and she exclaimed, "Whaaaat, you lift with your left too!!" As you can see by the picture below, it was a blow out!
