Welcome Home Elder Y Hermana Heath

We are excited to welcome home Jerry and Betty, Jared's parents, from their mission. They have served in Montevideo, Uruguay in the Unemployment offices for the past 18 months and we are so so so happy to have them home!
For Family Home Evening we made welcome home signs and then on Tuesday, we gathered as a family at the airport to greet Grandma and Grandpa.
Here is a close up of Eli, Jordyn, Alexis, and Kenzie's signs. I love that Kenzie drew a picture of Grandma and Grandpa, grey hair and all, in their missionary clothes.
Jordyn has no idea what is going on. Jerry and Betty left when she was 3 months old. It will be fun getting to know Grandma and Grandpa.

Jared wasn't able to be at the airport because he had to coach a basketball game, so I recorded Jerry and Betty coming through the gates. Jared made fun of me for crying, which you will be able to hear on the video, but I am not ashamed! It wasn't even blubbering, it was gentle tears streaming down my face, no big deal! I am so proud of them for serving a mission and I am so happy to have them back too. Well done Elder and Sister Heath, well done!
(Sorry, I tried to upload the video just now and it won't let me.

After we picked them up from the airport, we all drove back to their "immaculate" condo, and celebrated with pizza, salad, and drinks. (NO! Not that kind of drinks, they may no longer be missionaries but we still avoid the hard stuff!) It was a relaxing and fun evening like any other one that we have had before. We talked about movies that they have missed that they should look up, and what's been happening in our lives, and reminisced about childhood stories, just like old times. The night was good knowing that the next day brought on new goals, and new experiences. As Jerry put it, "Betty and I have to make new plans, all that we have planned has happened. We raised our kids, we retired, we served a mission. We don't know what to do now." I told him, "Just enjoy your family and grand kids for a while." He said, "Yes, I think we will."
