Our Bounty or....Booty!

We share a garden with our neighbors the Dials. They are really great people and always so willing to help you out in any way. Yes, these are the neighbors that mow our lawn for us if we are not quick enough!
Jared and I planned on taking out the south side of our yard and put in a garden, but instead, Gary Dial said that we could just join them in their garden because they never use all the stuff they grow and we could help them with the maintenance. We happily agreed. Gary is a farmer and so you know his garden will grow successfully! The last attempt that Jared and I made at gardening resulted in only I broccoli floret and three tomatoes. Nothing else grew!
We helped buy the seeds and assisted in the planting, weeding, watering, and now...reaping the rewards!
Peas, carrots, green beans, and zucchinis.
Jared was teaching the kids how to de-pod the peas.
The kids ate the peas like candy!
Alexis was breaking off the tips of the green beans.

Mackenzie enjoying the work!

(And as a side joke for my family....no, it's not Jordyn's arm...who's is it?)

Mackenzie and Alexis focusing on how to get the peas out of the pod!

I've enjoyed making zucchini bread and muffins and freezing the peas and soon, we will have lots of corn on the cob, broccoli, and red potatoes. And...we have tomatoes finally turning red and really really really big pumpkins growing!

That is so good that you have such good neighbors like that!
Looks like you guys are getting things in order to be able to eat yummy "fresh" food in the winter. That is GREAT!

Congrats on the garden this year! I love it when my kids snack on veggies from the garden.
