Bathroom fix up

Here is Jared and our good friend Dave Murrey helping us frame in our downstairs bathroom. We had the tub and shower installed professionally but we did everything else. Rebecca, Dave's wife, hung with me and the kids. It was a full days work but we felt a huge sense of accomplishment afterwards.

Jared and I worked really hard to get the drywall all installed and then Dusty, Jared's bro, came over and we mud and taped our bathroom. Dusty and Megann are working on their downstairs bathroom too, so we would then go over to their house and work, while ours dried. For two days we worked until it got all done. Sunday finally came and we were able to have a day of rest.

Monday came and we were off again. The mud was still wet so we tiled the bathroom. I love it! It was really hard work but we got it all mortared, layed, grouted and sealed. We were able to do both of our bathrooms, which is nice because our upstairs bath had carpet, gross!

Dusty said that sanding was the worst and he was right! I was blowing white pasty boogers for days afterwards...sorry for the visual image you just had. hehehehe! We had white dust all over us. We shook most off before realizing that we should get a picture of us so here are some toned down pixs of the mess we made.

The dust would get in our eyes and mouths so we tried to prevent that with goggles and make-shift neckerchiefs.

Jared looks like he painted his face white like some sort of clown. He had is worse because he had to do the ceiling. Sometimes not being tall has more advantages, you get out of hard jobs sometimes because you can't reach.

Here is picture of our finished bathroom. I am standing in the tub. It looks really nice so anyone that wants to come and see it, we would love your visit.

Tiling our upstairs bathroom. It was hard but looks so much better!

Jared braking his back to tile, he did such a good job!

Now our upstairs bathroom flows better. You feel like you are walking on sand, not really it just looks like it. And the blue works well, so we didn't paint it.

Wow! they look really good! that's amazing that you guys did that mostly all yourselves! I think tile is much better in the bathroom than carpet. Way to go! You ready to sell soon?

Hopefully we will be re-doing all the flooring up the ranch house soon. I can't wait to get the house turned into our 'cabin'! I'm going up next week to work on the house. SO, SO MUCH has to be done.
