Alexis's Baptism

Last Saturday, March 2, 2013 Alexis was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was so excited for this day and she had to wait a while too. We had to postpone her baptism date twice so when it finally came, she was more than ready and excited! We asked her if she even wanted to be baptized and she said, "Yes!" We asked her why and she said, "Because Jesus was baptized and I want to be like him." Jared and I are so proud of her decision!
Alexis got to wear the special family dress. This dress was the same dress that Mackenzie wore last year and the one I wore 23 years ago. She got to share her special day with another sweet little girl from our ward named Tyanna Lott. Together they made promises to follow the commandments and try to always be like Jesus. If they do those things, then they will be blessed to always have Heavenly Father's spirit with them. The Holy Ghost will be a constant guide and companion to them if they strive to do what is right.

I love that they are holding hands!

After the baptism was over and we were driving home, I asked Alexis if she felt anything special when the words "Receive the Holy Ghost" were said during the confirmation prayer, she said, " I felt like my heart was getting this really warm hug, I feel so happy inside!" I'm so happy that she has been blessed with the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know having Him as a friend makes living here on this earth a lot better.

Thanks to everyone who could come to her special day, Grandma and Grandpa Weber, Kim and Jason Lanegan and kids, Sharon and Darick Carpenter and kids, Nancy and Trevor Gardner, Dez and Joey and Ben Heath, Dusty and Megann Heath and kids, Byron and Jemayla and Maren Heath, Kory and Kimble and Gillian Godfrey, Shawn and Cassidy Marshall and kids, Andrea and Sam Hess, Pam and Ryan and Reece Barker, Sesha Hammond, Royce and Julie Murdoch and kids, and to all who wanted to come but couldn't.

Some more pictures but for some reason they keep showing up sideways even though they aren't this way on my photo site.

I wanted to get pictures of everyone there with Lexie but we ran out of time.

Yay for baptisms! Ok, my blog would auto correct my tilted pictures. So if I corrected them before I loaded, the blog would over-correct them, putting them on their side again. I don't know if that helps, but it took me awhile to figure out why some of mine went sideways.

We are proud of Alexis also. It was wonderful that she felt the Holy Ghost when she was confirmed. She will remember that all her life. Thanks for posting the pictures. We at least got to see her in her dress and smiling in anticipation. I'm glad so many people could come! Beautiful Day!
