Spring Break

This week was our spring break. We wanted to go out of town somewhere warm but the only places available were in Arizona and New Mexico. We decided to stay at home and do special activities throughout the week. So we asked the kids what they would like to do and we set off doing those things.

The kids wanted to go swimming and so we went to the Blackfoot swimming pool. We heard that they were having a spring break special and so we went. When we got there, we were lucky to find that they were having a free day.

Alexis was not scared at all which I thought she would be! I love having life jackets! She just does her own thing instead of clinging to our arms the whole time. Mackenzie, Alexis, Eli, Jordyn, and Jared. I went swimming too but I took pictures first.
Mack wanted me to get a picture of her trying to do a back float.
Jordyn's first time swimming. She loves to take baths so I thought she would like the swimming pool. I think she would have liked it more if it hadn't been so cold water. ( I thought it was cold, Jared thought I was a pansy!)
We also went bowling.

Here is Alexis just after she sent the ball down the alley. It was cute to watch how the kids just stared as the ball rolled, but poor Lex kept stepping on the foul line and so it would buzz at her.

I showed Eli how to roll it through his legs and he would stand almost the whole time with his hands in the air as he watched the ball go. Then, just before the ball would hit the pins, he would run back to get another ball, pumping his arms as he went, to roll his next ball. We kept having to tell him that he should wait and watch to see his other ball knock down the pins.
Mack, Alex, and Eli showing off their cool bowling shoes.
The whole family showing off our shoes. I have a picture like this with my siblings that I love and so I wanted one of us doing it too.
Since it is spring break, we have way more cooked breakfasts. A lady in our ward gave us some goose eggs and so Jared made himself an omelet.
The goose egg equaled like 4 chicken eggs. If you have seen the movie Nacho Libre then you will appreciate this next line.

"It gave Jared no eagle powers, it gave him no nutrients!" Jared kept quoting lines from that show while he tried to crack the egg. He seriously almost got a rock to crack it because it wouldn't break no matter how hard he pounded it on the bowl.
We had tackle time with dad.
Poor Jared felt sick all week long with a nasty head cold that is still giving him grief but he still played with the kids.
Even Jordyn got in on the mix.
We also went to the library and visited Aunt Jemayla and checked out a whole bunch of books for the kids to read over the break, and we bought the movie Tangled and watched it several times over the course of the week on the new "Movie theater" as the kids call it.

Overall, we had a good family week.
