Daddy time, BBQ, Jungle book, and twister!

Jared started his Masters program a couple of weeks ago and has been super busy. He is taking a really heavy load this summer in hopes of being able to take it easy during the school year. So he is working hard and I am working hard to keep the kiddo's away so he can concentrate. However, Eli seems to just do his own thing and so here he is climbing on daddy while Jared is reading the necessary chapters he needs to get done this week before he takes the quiz.
Jared is teaching the girls how to do guitar hero. My sister, Sharon and her hubby, Darick, have the game and every now and then we go play at their house. I do believe I am a natural at the drums and I do a great rendition of Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" on the microphone!
Got to teach them while they are young, when they like helping you with things. Jared is teaching Alexis the fine art of peeling potatoes.

We watched our nephews over the weekend a few weeks back and we had them all sit down and listen to a story so I could be dinner cooked. They were super cute all together!

We had a neighborhood BBQ on Monday and we brought a pinata for the kids. Jared and I wanted to get to know our Neighbors better so we set up the BBQ. Only our Mormon neighbors showed but it was still a blast. It was really good food and our neighbor with a really nice jaguar offered to let Jared drive it around. He was even tempted to drive it to his principal interview but then decided it might look better to drive our clunker to the interview instead, in hopes of making them see how nice this job would be for us. He didn't get it but we are not disappointed...other principal positions will come up. Anyways, it was fun and hopefully there will be many more bbq's in the future!
It is in reverse order but here we go.

The kids with their treasure. They went in the house to enjoy their spoils and Jared and I went to clean up and came back to piles of wrappers and kids hyped up on lots of sugar!
(Kenzie is wear some sweet purple corduroy pants!)

Everyone scrounging for candy! Jared is trying to keep the kids safe. (I think, or he is trying to get candy for himself!)

Here are the kids hitting the pinata. Kenzie is up to bat!

My kids like to dress like Mowgli from the Jungle Book movie. After seeing that show they love running around in just their underwear. Every morning, I tell the kids to go get dressed and they come running out like this...naked! Plus, jumping on Mom's bed is so much more fun without clothes.

Mackenzie and Alexis love playing twister. So here is Kenzie and Eli trying to stretch across the mat.

Alexis has short legs and so it takes a lot to get her feet to be on the red dot and the green dot.
